28th April 2016  Dr Achmad Achtar (Lecturer in Islamic Studies at Heythrop College) was welcomed for a talk at the Sion Centre of Dialogue and Encounter in Bayswater. The lecture was a part of the celebration of the Year of Mercy in Catholic Church. In January 2016 we listened to the Catholic perspective on Mercy by Fr. Donizetti NDS, in February Jonathan Gorsky (Lectuer in Jewish Studies at Heythrop College) spoke about a Jewish perspective of Mercy and yesterday evening Dr Achtar talk about Mercy in the Qur’an, Islamic theology and in Sufism. The talk was followed by a number of very interesting conversation between the lecturer and participants.
