A senior colleague recently maintained publicly that Jews in the New Testament are “repeatedly reviled”.  When I challenged him, he responded that ‘Virtually every book in the New Testament contains anti-semitism.’  In the current climate of concern about growing antisemitism, this is a claim which needs to be carefully examined.
