Ann and Bob Kirk, Kindertransport Children

ann-and-bobThe Sion Centre for Dialogue and Encounter was privileged to host an afternoon with Bob and Ann Kirk.  Bob and Ann told their own individual stories of coming to England on the Kindertransport.  They shared with us their memories of their happy childhood and family lives in Germany before the war and also the terrible events of the night of 9th November 1938, Kristallnacht.  They also spoke of the courage of their parents who made the difficult decision to send them to England for safety.  They never saw their parents again.  They will never forget the kindness of the people who welcomed them here in England as refugees, helping them to build a new life and to look towards the future.

All those who attended were so moved and inspired by their story and their commitment to sharing their positive and courageous journey through life. Thank you Bob and Ann.
